With the announcement from The Fratellis that they’d dismantled the band and now an open letter from Voxtrot frontman Ramesh Srivastava on Voxtrot’s website detailing the Texas quintet’s unraveling, the death knell seems to be tolling for former buzz bands this week.
After following up a handful of promising EPs with a lackluster full-length debut, Voxtrot experienced what Srivastava calls an “almost instantaneous decay.” Clearly upset about his band’s unfulfilled promise and subsequent dissolution, Srivastava goes on to write, “Part of doing something with love is being able to say ‘goodbye’ at the right time.”
Voxtrot’s “Goodbye, Cruel World…” tour begins May 21.
