Lost Series Finale to be Broadcast in U.S. and Europe Simultaneously

In an effort to prevent rampant illegal downloads and save viewers from having “The End” spoiled, networks across the pond are airing the Lost series finale the exact same moment U.S. residents turn to ABC to watch the two-and-a-half hour long episode. Fans in the U.K. will have to set their alarms for 5 a.m. to catch the finale Monday morning, according to Variety, but most are probably thrilled broadcasting network Sky1 decided to bump the show’s air date from its usual Friday night time slot.

Other countries simulcasting the epic finale include Italy, Spain, Portugal, Israel and Turkey. In addition, Disney claims the episode will air in 59 other countries “no later than 48 hours after the U.S. broadcast,” as reported by Variety. The broadcasts that air in non-English speaking regions will have subtitles, representatives from the Lost distributing company said. Check out the full broadcast schedule below:
