True Blood Soundtrack to Include M. Ward, Lucinda Williams, Beck, Many More

HBO’s True Blood features more than swampy Bayou vampires and tortured human/undead love stories—it has some good music music too. And on May 25, the second installment of the series’ soundtrack, True Blood – Music From the HBO Original Series Volume II, will be released on Elektra Records. May 25 will also see the release of the show’s second season on DVD.

The Volume II disc features music from both the second and not-yet-aired third season, which premieres June 13. Artists included on the soundtrack include Bob Dylan, Beck, Buddy and Julie Miller, Thievery Corporation, Lucinda Williams with Elvis Costello, Eels and Robbie Robertson and more. Two Howlin’ Wolf covers—each with a sufficiently creepy title—are also included on the disc: “Howlin’ For My Baby” performed by M. Ward and “Evil (Is Going On)” performed by Jace Everett & CC Adcock.

A digital deluxe edition, featuring four bonus tracks, will also be available.
