Remember when MTV used to play music videos? More specifically, remember when MTV used to play music videos and the two lazy reprobates known as Beavis and Butthead used to sit around, between skipping school and working part-time at Burger World, and run their bone-headed commentary on said music videos? Mike Judge's animated series ran from 1993 to 1997 and spawned a 1996 feature film, but if you believe some recent rumors, it might be on its way back to the small screen sometime soon.
REVIEWniverse reports that, according to an anonymous source, Judge is outlining 30 new episodes of the seminal, disgustingly funny cartoon series for its native, now-reality-laden network. There are no official plans for a return to broadcast, but the source seems hopeful for a full-fledged rebirth of the show.
REVIEWniverse also reports that the series will retain its washed-out look and original format with the dudes sitting on the couch dishing on (more contemporary) music videos.
AsThe AV Club notes, rumors like these have cropped up before just to be laid to rest by Mike Judge. But, like, you know. It could totally happen. Heh, heh heh.
