There. All clear? No? You’re not alone. IMDB lists the tagline for Into the Woods: Pathway as “No one knows what this film is about.” The official website is not much more enlightening, except in conveying a Blair Witch-meets-Dogme-95-meets-experimental-film-student vibe.
Why should you care? Take a look at who makes an appearance, in addition to Mr. Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy: ?uestlove, Rufus Wainwright, Terrence Howard, Rosie Perez, Moby, Dave Matthews, Will Shortz, Temple Grandin, Alan Cumming, Bob Mankoff and more, with original music by Yoko Ono. The official summary of the movie (at this point): “No one knows what the experience is about. Each person agreed to walk into the unknown. The journey will unfold over time. The messages will become clear to the informed viewer. This is unprecedented online journey that will unleash an episodic film experience. The delivery will be as unconventional as the experience itself.”
What does all this really mean? Let the guessing begin.
