50 years after her debut single “I’m A Honky Tonk Girl,” Loretta Lynn will be honored with a tribute CD.
The Associated Press reports that Coal Miner’s Daughter: A Tribute to Loretta Lynn will hit stores on Nov. 9.
The album will feature the likes of Lucinda Williams, The White Stripes, Sheryl Crow, Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood and Lee Ann Womack taking on the legendary country songstress’ tunes. Faith Hill, Kid Rock, Miranda Lambert, Paramore, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire and Steve Earle will also contribute tracks.
Lynn issued a statement about the album, saying, “I am so happy that these singers wanted to do this record. I love ‘em all, and it was so great to hear all the different ways they did my hits. I hope people like it as much as I do and we sell a bunch of records!”
