One of the most memorable (and arguably one of the most depressing) Dr. Seuss tales is set to hit the big screen in glorious 3D.
Danny DeVito will voice the titular character in The Lorax, and he’ll be joined by Ed Helms, Zac Efron, Betty White and Rob Riggle. Helms will play the greedy Once-ler, who chops down all the trees, much to the Lorax’s chagrin.
Efron will voice a young boy in search of the Once-ler to find out “how his world got so ugly,” and White will play the boy’s grandmother who remembers way back when the world was still green. Riggle will play a new character, described as “another industrialist who sells cans of fresh air to the polluted world the Once-ler creates and wants to keep it that way.”
No word on a release date for the flick. In the meantime, check out some of the 1972 animated version below.
