Best Buy has acquired the rights to sell an exclusive Blu-Ray version of Cameron Crowe’s Oscar-winning film Almost Famous. The new iteration is named Almost Famous Untitled (The Bootleg Cut) and will be released on Jan. 30.
Best Buy is currently competing against Target for exclusive sales of select DVDs because both chains make a large amount of revenue from movie sales.
According to Cinemablend, the Blu-Ray version will include extras like the director’s cut, an interview with Lester Bangs, a music video for “Fever Dog,” numerous commentaries, favorites lists and an introduction from Crowe.
The price of Best Buy’s bid is unknown, but the retail price is $34.99.
