DreamWorks Pictures, the folks behind hit animated films like Shrek and Antz, is now working on an animated musical called Monkeys of Bollywood, Variety reports.
Composer A.R. Rahman and lyricist Stephen Schwartz have been hired along with husband and wife producing duo Gurinder Chadha and Paul Berge. Rahman scored 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire, while Schwartz was the lyricist for Broadway’s Wicked and worked on the TV show Glee.
Monkeys of Bollywood, which is set in Mumbai and inspired by the epic Hindu poem, “The Ramayana”, tells the tale of two monkeys who try to save the world from an ancient demon.
