Kevin Spacey has signed on to star in David Fincher’s television directorial debut. The show, House of Cards, is based on the Michael Dobbs novel and British miniseries of same name. Fincher will direct the pilot and executive-produce the series along with Spacey and Eric Roth (writer of Fincher-directed film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).
House of Cards
is a political thriller set at the end of the Margaret Thatcher-era administration and follows a cutthroat politician who aims to secure the Prime Minister’s seat. Fincher’s version will, of course, be Americanized, and was written by playwright/screenwriter Beau Willimon (The Ides of March). This project marks a reunion for the Spacey and Fincher who previously worked together on Se7en.
