The long-awaited project from creative minds John Mellencamp and Stephen King looks as if it will finally make its debut.
A few years ago we mentioned that the pair was working on a gothic musical, with a projected debut date of 2009. The year came and went with no release from Mellencamp and King, but Alliance Theater in Atlanta, Ga. has recently announced that it will produce the project, Ghost Brothers of Darkland County next year.
The musical is based on King’s story of the true account of the deaths of two brothers and a young girl in 1957. Mellencamp is working on a “roots and blues-tinged score” for the production.
The show is set to run April 4, 2012 to May 13, 2012.
