The Cure are set to perform a rare two-night show at this year’s Vivid Live event at The Sydney Opera House.
Stephen Pavlovic, head of the Modular label, curated this year’s event and presents the headlining show “Reflections,” a presentation of The Cure’s first three albums.
The band’s 1979 debut album, Three Imaginery Boys, 1980’s Seventeen Seconds and 1981’s Faith will be performed in succession by the band, with an evolving line-up of past and present members.
The live performances are set for May 31 and June 1, and The Cure will play each of the three albums in their entirety for the special event.
The Crystal Ark, the newly-formed supergroup comprised of LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip members, will also play a headlining show for the Vivid Live event.
Cut Copy, Tame Impala, Architecture in Helsinki and Bat For Lashes will also take the stage during the week-long festival.
