Filming has begun for a new comedy starring Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) entitled A Fantastic Fear of Everything.
In the movie, Pegg’s character is a children’s author who becomes a crime novelist and begins researching Victorian serial killers. Things go awry when his work causes him to develop an irrational fear that he will be murdered.
Crispian Mills, the frontman of the English psych-rock band Kula Shaker, wrote the film and is also directing it. Music video director Chris Hopewell is crossing over into the film world as well with the project. Though he is best known for directing Radiohead’s “There There” and The Killers’ “Smile Like You Mean It,” Hopewell will act as co-director and animator for A Fantastic Fear of Everything. No release date has been announced.
