The famed Hotel Chelsea is closing after being open for almost 130 years. The building has housed some of the most famous events in pop culture history. Countless writers have produced some of their best works, hundreds of musicians held parties and even some unfortunate deaths took place in the rooms of the hotel.
Located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, Hotel Chelsea was home to many muscians, writers and actors, including Allen Ginsberg, Bob Dylan, Stanley Kubrick and Andy Warhol. The list goes on and on. However, celebrities have moved on from the allure of the hotel, causing revenue to dwindle. Many still visit the hotel, keeping Chelsea alive as a tourist attraction. Many hopeful pop culture enthusiasts are hoping that the hotel will only be closing temporarily, but no word suggests anything other than that the hotel will be closed permanently.
