This weekend, director John Singleton will be releasing his first film since 2005’s Four Brothers with the Taylor Lautner-starring Abduction. While Singleton has been away from the camera for a while, it seems like one of his next projects is already in discussions: a biopic of N.W.A.
Singleton is interested in a screenplay called Straight Outta Compton and he’s not the only one: so is N.W.A. member Ice Cube. Ice Cube has approached Singleton for the project, which already has the backing of Tomica Woods, Easy-E’s widow.
Not much else is known of the project at this point, except that supposedly the first writer of the project was Andrea Berloff, who also wrote World Trade Center.
