Following the success of their most recent album I’m with You, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced their first North American tour dates since the departure of longtime guitarist John Frusciante and the addition of replacement Josh Klinghoffer.
Though the funk-rock veterans are embarking on a short series of European dates in December, they will kick off their North American leg on Jan. 25 in Charlotte, N.C. So far only six North American dates have been announced, but an official statement promises more shows will be finalized in the next few weeks — and since more European shows are lined up beginning in June, you can expect the Chili Peppers to tour the U.S. and Canada throughout the spring.
Tickets go on sale to the general public starting this Saturday (the Atlanta show goes on sale Friday), with local radio stations offering presale tickets for each show beginning Wednesday.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are also offering professionally recorded soundboards of all shows from the I’m with You tour via their website. The recordings will be offered in MP3, FLAC and ALAC formats and will be available “within a few days after the gig ends.”
