frontman Kele Okereke confirmed yesterday that the band will release a new album in 2012. The album will be the band’s fourth and comes after a hiatus in 2009, the BBC reports. The band’s last studio full-length album was 2008’s Intimacy.
Okereke confirmed that the band recorded two songs and has demoed 17 more, with the tracks sounding “lean and very tough.”
This comes months after some reported band drama when Okereke told NME that the band was rehearsing without him. The band cited a lack of communication for the mix-up and confirmed later through a Simpsons-style drawing on their website that they were still a band.
