First Michael Scott left The Office and now perhaps Dwight Schrute? Looks like NBC is ready to give Rainn Wilson his own spinoff for a midseason 2013 premiere. Though no deals have been finalized, it looks like Wilson and producer/writer/star Paul Lieberstein have been brewing this idea for a few years now.

The untitled, up-in-the-air project will focus on Dwight leaving the office to run a bed and breakfast at, where else, Schrute Farms. Deadline reports that a source claimed, “Paul and Rainn have been joking for years about Dwight’s life on the farm, his family and how ill-suited he is to run a B&B.”

Wilson and Lieberstein will executive produce the spinoff with another Office producer, Ben Silverman, also helming the project. As for Wilson leaving the show? Deadline further states that he would continue to star in the original series, at least for a little bit.
