We recently reported Sigur Rós will be making their return to the stage at the Isle of Wight Festival, and now Best Coast has confirmed they will be joining the festival’s line-up as part of their UK headlining tour.
The June show will be the first time the band plays in the UK as an expanded four-piece; Rafe Mandel and Brett Mielke will join the core duo of Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno.
The tour will include debut songs from their forthcoming second album. The album is currently being recorded at Los Angeles’ Capitol Studios with producer Jon Brion.
In a press release Cosentino says, “For this album, I was inspired by Loretta Lynn, Dusty Springfield, Dolly Parton, Stevie Nicks. I wanted people to be like, ‘Damn, this girl can sing.’”
The record is due for release in spring 2012 on Wichita Recordings in the UK/Eurpose and via Mexican Summer in the United States.
