Hangout Festival Announces 2012 Lineup

Music News Hangout Festival

Update: Hangout Festival just announced the last headliner will be the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Chilis will join Dave Matthews Band and Jack White on the main stage, as well as Skrillex on the dance stage, as the top-tier names for the fest.

For just its third year of business, coastal Alabama’s Hangout Festival is looking pretty awesome. While we already reported that Jack White will take one of the headlining slots, the fest just announced much of the rest of its 2012 linup, a pretty indie-rock-centric affair.

White, Dave Matthews Band and a soon-to-be-announced third act will headline the main stage and Skrillex will be the main act in the air-conditioned dance tent. Other bands like Wilco, Dispatch, The Flaming Lips (who will perform their version of Dark Side of the Moon), Dr. Dog, Dawes and Coheed & Cambria will all perform along with classic acts like Steve Winwood and Mavis Staples and some of Paste’s favorite newcomers like Sleeper Agent, The Lumineers and the Alabama Shakes.

Hangout takes place May 18-20 in Gulf Shores, Ala. Tickets for three-day passes cost $194-$209 and go on sale Feb. 10 at noon EST here.
