The Jesus and Mary Chain announced that due to “work visa issues beyond their control,” the band has rescheduled their appearance at the 35 Denton Festival in Denton, Texas. In place of the appearance, the band is set to play a free concert on March 14 at the North Texas Fairgrounds at 7 p.m. Denton 35 attendees who have wristbands will have access to a secured VIP area at the front of the stage and will also receive priority entry at the venue.
“This is unfortunate, but we’ve been able to make the best of a bad situation,” said Kyle La Valley, 35 Denton creative director. “Jesus and Mary Chain have been terrific in working with us on this, and they’ve gone out of their way to make it up to Denton. We’re very happy that we’ve been able to work it out and still bring them to town. With a special guest set for Sunday and the surprises in store for Wednesday night, this has actually allowed us to grow this year’s festival.”
The band’s date in New Orleans on March 12 has been rescheduled to Sept. 5. The band’s remaining dates, which include an appearance at the House of Blues Houston on March 13 and their appearance at our SXSW Showcase on March 15, are still set to go on as planned. You can check out more details about the cancellations at The Jesus and Mary Chain and 35 Denton.
