Update: We’ve now added the two final bands, Brooklyn’s Caveman and Nashville’s Sugar + The Hi-Lows, both of whom have been recent Paste Best of What’s Next artists.
The lineup for this year’s Sennheiser & Paste Present The Stages on Sixth, our eighth annual event during the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, on March 14-16, is undeniably our best yet. With 11 terrific bands each day (plus free Sam Adams beer, Duchman wine and Distillery No 209 gin while it lasts), a fun time should be had by all.
Included in the list of announced bands are established acts like Built To Spill, Glen Hansard, Ben Kweller, The dB’s, The Wedding Present, Rhett Miller and Blitzen Trapper. Plus plenty of newer acts we’re excited to present, including Howler, Vintage Trouble, Tennis, Rich Aucoin, Typhoon, Reptar, Hospitality, The Lumineers and many, many more (see the full list below).
The sound ranges from the bluegrass of Chris Thile’s Punch Brothers to the hip hop of Talib Kweli’s Idle Warship to the electronica of Apparat to the soulful funk of JC Brooks & The Uptown Sound. We have bands from Iceland (Of Monsters and Men), Scotland (We Were Promised Jetpacks) and lots of Canadians. And the best thing is that it’s free thanks to sponsors Sennheiser, DMX, Tretorn, Samuel Adams, Distillery No 209, Honest Tea and Duchman Family Winery.
RSVP here if you can join us in Texas. If you’ve never been to SXSW, it’s one of our favorite weeks of the year and something that should be on every music-lover’s bucket list.
