Katy Goodman of Vivian Girls will release her sophomore album under the La Sera moniker tomorrow through Hardy Art. Sees The Light, a ten-track follow-up to the band’s 2011 self-titled debut, includes both “Real Boy” and “Drive On” for which Goodman and director Travis Peterson used together in one epic (and slightly disturbing) music video.
The first 90-seconds, the “Real Boy” part, features Goodman’s best Zooey Deschanel vocal impression and illustrates a circus-pop scene. The plot darkens for the rest of the video, however, turning into a black and white horror flick oddly reminiscent of Pedro Almodóvar’s 2011 film, The Skin I Live In (La Piel Que Habito).
