Elle Fanning is merely 14 years-old, but she’s already worked with directors Sofia Coppola, J.J. Abrams, David Fincher and Cameron Crowe.
And now today, Rolling Stone reported that Fanning is in talks to play a lead role in God Help the Girl, a musical written and directed by Belle and Sebastian frontman Stuart Murdoch.
Murdoch wrote the 2009 album with the same name for which the film will be based. The film’s producers and songwriter have turned to Kickstarter to raise the $100,000 film budget. Production for the film is scheduled for June.
Fanning has recently been penned to star in Sally Potter’s new film Bomb, Van Fischer’s comedy Pure Life and Robert Stromberg’s Maleficent. Maleficent is a reinvented tale of Sleeping Beauty told from the perspective of the princess’ nemesis, who is played by Angelina Jolie.
Both Fanning sisters made our list of The Best 20 Actors Under 20 back in 2010, and it’s without surprise that two years later, the pair are still a powerhouse force.
