Over the years, Quentin Tarantino has taken on many different film genres, paying homage to each, such as heist films (Reservoir Dogs), noir (Pulp Fiction), samurai (Kill Bill), grind house (Death Proof) and war (Inglourious Basterds). With Tarantino’s newest film Django Unchained, he will tackle the spaghetti western in ways only he could. Now, the first images from this intriguing film have been released.
Entertainment Weekly has revealed the first two pictures taken of the film. The first image is of Jamie Foxx, who plays former slave Django, with Christoph Waltz, who plays a bounty hunter that helps Django get his wife back from her captor, Calvin Candie.
The second image shows Candie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, the owner of a plantation called Candie Land where he makes slaves fight each other to the death.
The cast will also include Kerry Washington, as Django’s wife Broomhilda, Samuel L. Jackson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Walton Goggins, Don Johnson and Kurt Russell.
