Metric Confirms Additional Details for Synthetica

Canadian indie band Metric posted more information online today about its forthcoming album, Synthetica. The 11 tracks included on the group’s fifth full-length record were recorded at their own studio, Giant, in Toronto and at Electric Lady Studios in New York City. Metric’s own guitarist Jimmy Shaw produced Synthetica and John O’Mahony mixed it.

Additionally, NME reported that the band collaborated with Lou Reed on the song, “The Wanderlust.” The track “Youth Without Youth” is set to be released as a single on May 1.

“It sounds like the culmination of everything we have done,” singer Emily Haines said on the band’s website. “We’ve always had a sound in our heads that we hoped to realize and we finally heard it coming back out of the speakers this time.”
