Coming on the heels of news that they’ll be releasing their sophomore album on Sept. 24, Mumford & Sons have announced that they will embark on a series of “Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers” in August.
The Stopovers will be miniature, one-day festivals curated by Mumford & Sons, who will give a performance to open each event. Local vendors, businesses and venues will all participate, and additional bands hand-picked by the folk rockers will perform as well. According to Mumford & Sons, they organized the Stopovers becasue they “wanted to stop off in towns where bands don’t usually tour, and celebrate the local people, food and music.”
There will be four Stopovers in all, taking place in Monterey, Calif., Dixon, Ill., Portland, Maine, and Bristol, Va. Tickets will be $69 with no additional service fees or charges. Visit www.gentlemenoftheroad.com for more ticket and Stopover information.
