is on his way to building his very own TV empire: he’s helping to host a cooking competition show with Nigella Lawson on ABC, who has already ordered the nameless show to series.
Casting for professional and amateur contestants is underway, with Kinetic Content producing. This isn’t Bourdain’s first time on a cooking competition show; he guest-judged several episodes of Top Chef, in addition to his own shows which heavily feature food, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and The Layover. He also is scheduled to have his own weekend show on CNN in 2013.
Bourdain’s worldly, wry sense of humor has gained him a loyal fanbase, and ABC is hoping that fanbase will follow him over to the network in their first attempt at a primetime cooking show.
