On June 5, Neil Young & Crazy Horse will release Americana, an album of electric reprisals of American folk standards such as “She’ll Be Coming Round The Mountain.” To gear fans up for the release, Young filmed a 40-minute silent film that centers around the album’s music.
Taped in California at graphic designer Shepard Fairey’s gallery, the film focuses on a young author—played by Young—who is visiting the gallery in search of pictures to accompany his book about American songs. The film features songs from Americana set to footage from the works of iconic silent film director D.W. Griffith.
