Twin Shadow’s new video for “Five Seconds” premiered last night in New York City’s Time Square on double billboard-size LED screens, which was featured by Artist Wanted — Art Takes Times Square.
For “Five Seconds,” which is shot more like a short film than a music video, director Keith Musil captured Twin Shadow’s George Lewis Jr. riding a motorcycle through misty wooded areas while trying to avoid attack by some scary, masked, shirtless pursuers swinging bats. It’s not what one might initially imagine for this song’s video, but shot in a really cool way.
“Well my mom is gonna be super bummed out, but yes that’s me surfing my motorcycle in the video for ‘5 Seconds’ ... and yes I’m also on the wrong side of the road,” Lewis Jr. said. “ I figured if I was ever going to get away with being on a jackass on a motorcycle it would be for my own music video. The video for ‘5 Seconds’ is one part of a series of videos based on a novel written by myself and a good friend Eric Green called ‘Night Of The Silver Sun.’”
The new album featuring this song, Confess, is set for release July 10.
