If you’ve been anxiously waiting for Russian writer Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel Anna Karenina to be adapted into a major motion picture, you’re in luck. Filmmaker Joe Wright (Atonement, Hanna) is directing Tom Stoppard’s adapted screenplay of the classic piece of literature, and Keira Knightley will star in the title role. Jude Law will star as Karenina’s cuckolded husband, Alexi Karenin.
The film, which is scheduled to hit theaters Nov. 9, is set in late 19th-century Russia, so, as you can imagine, the costume work is incredible and the demeanors are severe. Check out the trailer below:
