After completing their world tour in support of their fourth studio album, Arctic Monkeys have talked about their follow-up LP, which they said they want to take in a “heavier” direction.
According to NME, frontman Alex Turner said recently, “I think we’re going to go in the direction of those heavier tunes. We did ‘R U Mine?’, and I think that’s where it’s going to be at for us for the next record,” referencing their recent single. Turner also said that the band felt their best moments on its latest, Suck It and See, were in that same vein, such as “Don’t Sit Down…” and “Brick by Brick.”
The Sheffield, U.K. band hopes to record the new album in their hometown.
