Yesterday, Modern Family’s starring players no-showed for a scheduled table read due to pending lawsuits against 20th Century Fox, threatening the status of the show’s upcoming fourth season—but today, it appears production for the show will go on.
The table read originally scheduled for Tuesday has been rescheduled for Thursday morning, Deadline reports. The decision to reconvene for the reading on Thursday was an “act of goodwill,” according to the report.
Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Sofia Vergara and Ed O’Neill all sued 20th Century Fox to void their contracts yesterday, citing California’s “7 Year Rule” as grounds for a lawsuit. That lawsuit will proceed as planned, according to the report, but the cast members have decided to continue production for the show, at least for now.
