Joy Division’s Peter Hook is set to release a memoir about his time with the iconic band. The book is titled Unknown Pleasures: Inside Joy Division. Publishers Simon & Schuster announced that the book will be published on Oct. 1. Throughout the years, Hook has had a thorough inside look at fame and rock and roll, both with Joy Division and with the band reformed as New Order following singer Ian Curtis’ suicide.
The remaining members of Joy Division, particularly Hook and Bernard Sumner, have been feuding for years, and even though the memoir will probably not change that, Hook has described the memoir as a way to have closure. When he discussed the book last year, he said: “I hope this book puts my Joy Division demons to rest. And then I can put my New Order demons to rest. And then I can rest.”
