This Week In News

It’s been a busy week for news, and we understand that it can be hard to keep track of every story out there. To kick things off, don’t miss any of the new songs and videos that hit the web this week. Check out First Aid Kit covering the Rolling Stones; Warpaint performing a new song; Passion Pit’s latest, Constant Conversations; Alberta Cross’ new album, Songs of Patience; the Walkmen’s latest video, The Love You Love; Twin Shadow’s latest video, Patient; a video for Bloc Party’s Octopus; the Shin’s newest video, It’s Only Life; and Blitzen Trapper’s Girl in a Coat.

In other music news, you can now stream Frank Ocean’s new album. Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest announced its lineup. Lord Huron announced its debut LP. Ty Segall announced yet another album (his third in 2012). Sharon Van Etten announced a fall tour. The Beach Boys’ kids have banded together—literally—to form Saga, a tribute band.

The Calvin and Hobbes documentary reached its Kickstarter goal and can finish up production. Will Yun Lee signed on for the X-Men Origins Wolverine sequel. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the RoboCop remake, rejoice! There’s a teaser trailer. There’s only one week left until The Dark Knight Rises, but you can stave off hunger pangs a little longer with this 13-minute featurette or the film’s soundtrack. The final installment to The Hunger Games, Mockingjay, will be split in two. David Duchovny fans will happy to learn of a new trailer for his upcoming film, now with more goat noises. Reboots are all the rage right now, from National Lampoon to the Fantastic Four. In stranger news, Channing Tatum is taking his stripper heart of gold to an Evel Knievel biopic. David Cronenberg has a new movie coming out and you can watch the trailer, featuring none other than Robert Pattinson.

Just when we were starting to lose hope, word hit the street that Arrested Development is officially starting filming in only four short weeks. Everyone’s favorite serial killer is preparing for his September return with webisode previews and the first two minutes of the new season. Speaking of new seasons, The Walking Dead is currently in third season production, with lots of tasty teaser shots to whet your appetitive.
