Abby Elliott Leaving Saturday Night Live

Alongside Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg, Abby Elliott has announced that she will not be returning to Saturday Night Live for what would have been her fifth season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, she had been picked up for a Fox pilot, Ben and Kate, although her role was recast since she was expected to stay with the sketch comedy show. Jason Sudeikis has also said that he is considering leaving SNL unless given a larger role.

Elliott was one of the show’s youngest performers when she joined the cast at 21, and was the first second-generation cast member as her father, Chris Elliott, was on SNL for a single year from 1994-1995.

Known for her celebrities impressions, Elliot has played Angelina Jolie, Rachel Maddow, Zooey Deschanel and Khloe Kardashian among others.
