Joss Whedon Confirmed to Co-Write Pilot for Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. for ABC

Earlier this month it was reported that Joss Whedon (The Avengers, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) would be writing a Marvel TV series for ABC.

Now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that ABC has indeed comissioned Whedon to co-write a pilot for Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D.. Whedon’s brother, Jed, and his wife, Maurissa Tancharoen, will also serve as co-writers.

S.H.I.E.L.D. is a Marvel comic created by Jack Kirby that focuses on a military law enforcement agency called S.H.I.E.L.D., or Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistic Directorate.

Production of the TV version of S.H.I.E.L.D. will reportedly begin immediately, with the two Whedons, Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell and Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb serving as executive producers.

Also in TV
