Last night, 9NewsNBC reported reported that Willie Nelson had been hospitalized after “suffering from breathing problems due to the high altitude and emphysema.”
The legendary country singer was scheduled to perform in Castle Pines Village, Colo., just south of Denver, at a benefit for an animal shelter. Those in attendance were given word that the 79-year-old Nelson would not be able to attend due to his hospitalization.
UPDATE: This morning, Nelson representative Elaine Shock confirmed that the country singer was indeed having breathing problems that caused him to miss the performance, but that he was never taken to the hospital.
He is reportedly feeling better today, and will continue his tour as scheduled with a performance in Dallas on Tuesday night.
