Mumford and Sons appeared as the musical guest on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live to promote their latest album, Babel, which comes out Sept. 25. The band played two tracks from the new album, “I Will Wait” and “Below My Feet,” and also appeared in a sketch as a Beatles cover band called Hey Dude.
The performances highlight what captivated listeners on the band’s first album, 2009’s Sigh No More, complete with detailed harmonies and foot-stomping rhythm sections. “I Will Wait,” represents a more conventional Mumford track complete with a horn section and passionate chorus, while “Below My Feet” is a stripped down ballad that truly brings the vocal chemistry within the band to light.
Babel is out tomorrow via ATO Records.
