Didn’t get tickets to the Rolling Stones’ 50th anniversary shows in Newark? Don’t worry, the band has paired up with a very unlikely partner to allow fans at home to enjoy the performance.
According to Hollywood Reporter, World Wrestling Entertainment partnered with the rockers to distribute the highly anticipated performance as a live pay-per-view event called One More Shot. The WWE broadcast will be of the final show, which takes place on Dec. 15.
The independent TV production company Endemol will also help out with the anniversary shows. Endemol and the band’s promoter, Dainty Group, have teamed up to co-manage the international digital rights to the tour.
“Endemol and Dainty Group are also collaborating on plans that will allow fans unprecedented interaction with the ‘50 and Counting’ tour experience, more details of which will be revealed in due course,” the partners said in a statement.
Last night the Stones’ performed a very warm-up gig in Paris to prepare for their upcoming shows. The 50th anniversary shows begin in London on Nov. 25 and 29 at the O2 Arena. The final shows will be at Newark’s Prudential Center on December 13 and 15. You can order One More Shot on Dec. 15. The live broadcast begins at 9 p.m.
