Successfully moving from late-night to primetime can prove to be a difficult task. However, Daily Show alum Steve Carell made the transition seamlessly by gaining massive popularity as the star of NBC’s The Office. Now, it appears Carell will be offering advice to another Daily Show correspondent hoping to make the jump to comedy stardom.
Deadline reported that Carell is set to executive produce a brand new comedy for Fox starring Daily Show cast member Jason Jones. Carell and Jones barely missed working with each other, as Jones joined the Comedy Central news show in 2005, the same year Carell left for Office fame.
This will be Jones’ first foray into primetime.
