Calexico followed one of the first rules of show business (“The show must go on”) to a T last night as they played a gig at the Fonda in Los Angeles, Calif. amid a power outage. The entire venue was pitch black before the band even graced the stage, but the sextet was left undeterred as they played an acoustic song in total darkness.
The show eventually had to be canceled; however, the band promises to make up the date in 2013, saying on their site, “We are so sorry about the power outage and subsequent show cancellation tonight at the Fonda. We are working on finding a make up date as we speak … We apologize again for this crazy incident and look forward to seeing you back in LA when we find the right date to make it up.”
