Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Harrison Ford has expressed interest in reprising his iconic role of Han Solo for the forthcoming Star Wars sequel that was announced last week. But sources indicate a contract would likely include a mandatory death scene for Solo.
“Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are,” said the source, referring to Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, the trio of actors from George Lucas’s original Star Wars film.
Ford has indicated he will not enter serious talks until a script and a director are in place, both of which could potentially kill his interest in the project. Ford has famously declined to participate in numerous Star Wars reunion and celebration events, leading some to ponder his interest in the sequel.
