An eclectic group took the stage to pay homage to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, including the bizarre combo of Ke$ha, Johnny Depp and Patrick Carney.
The first Los Angeles Petty Fest was held at Hollywood’s El Rey Theatre. For over two hours, bands performed 25 of Petty’s greatest hits. By far the most unique group of the night had to be Carney, Depp and of course Ke$ha, who performed “Last Dance With Mary Jane.” The performance featured Depp showing off his guitar skills with Carney on drums and Ke$ha providing vocals. This of course was not the first time that Depp and Carney performed together. Earlier this year, Depp took the stage with the Black Keys during their MTV Movie Awards performance.
Petty Fest also had appearances from members from Alberta Cross and The Strokes as well as Jesse Malin, Nicole Atkins, Cory Chisel and Eagles of Death Metal.
Check out Carney, Depp and Ke$ha doing their rendition of “Last Dance With Mary Jane” below.
