Documentary filmmaker Brett Morgan just tackled The Rolling Stones in Crossfire Hurricane, which premiered Wednesday on HBO, and now he’ll take on the life of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, The New York Post reports.
Any Kurt Cobain or Nirvana-related project isn’t going to get very far without the blessing of Cobain’s controversial widow Courtney Love, who will indeed be pulling the strings on the forthcoming documentary, which is expected to premiere in 2014.
“Courtney is the one that brought me into this,” Morgan told the Post. “We’ve been trying to find the right time to put this film together and the time is now.”
Morgan also mentioned that the film will act as a kind of “third-person autobiography,” as if Cobain “was around and making a film about his life.”
