Inventive guitarist and songwriter Marnie Stern has announced the release of a new full-length album. And it shall be called…The Chronicles of Marnia. The fantastically titled LP will follow up her 2010 self-titled release. Stern also released the demo tape that preceded her 2007 debut last year. The Chronicles of Marnia will be out March 19 on Kill Rock Stars.
“We stripped away a lot of the layers and a lot of unnecessary interweaving guitar parts. There’s less clutter and more of staying on a part without adding too much instrumentation,” said Stern of the new album, which will feature Kid Millions of Oneida on drums with Zach Hill now playing with Death Grips.
Stern also released The Chronicles of Marnia’s lead single, “Year of the Glad.” Listen below. (via Pitchfork)
