The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been officially announced, and Rush, Public Enemy, Heart and Randy Newman all made the cut. Donna Summer and blues guitarist Albert King will be inducted posthumously. Band and artists are eligible for inclusion 25 years after their first release.

2013 marked the first year fans were allowed to vote for their favorite rock icons. The results of a public online poll were counted among the 600 other ballots. The 2013 induction ceremony will be held April 18 at the Nokia Theater. The ceremony will be broadcast on HBO May 18.

N.W.A., The Marvelettes, Gary Brooker, Kraftwerk, Joan Jett, Deep Purple and Chic were all nominated but failed to receive enough votes for inclusion in 2013.
