A clip from David Chase’s ‘60s music film Not Fade Away has surfaced and gives us an idea of the driving force behind the narrative.
The movie follows a group of teenagers who, inspired by The Beatles and the Rolling Stones, decide to form a band and try to make it in the budding industry of rock ‘n roll.
In this clip we see the band auditioning for what is likely a record deal. What immediately becomes apparent is the joy the band feels in playing music, and that the record deal is not as important as they may appear to think.
