Deadline reports that HBO has officially green lighted a single-camera comedy written, directed and executive produced by Mark and Jay Duplass.
Called Togetherness, the show centers on “two couples living under the same roof who struggle to keep their relationships alive while pursuing their individual dreams.”
Due to the heavily improvised nature of their films as well as their emphasis on character relationship over narrative, The Duplass Brothers are considered a pioneering force in “mumblecore” movement.
Over the past few years, the Brothers’ have seen a great rise in their popularity outside the art house circuit, directing more high-profile, star-heavy films such as Cyrus and Jeff, Who Lives at Home. In addition, Mark Duplass has scored many notable roles as an actor, including playing the lead in the FX show The League and the hit indie comedy Safety Not Guranteed as well as a recent small role in the Oscar-nominated Zero Dark Thirty,
