The late John Denver might have had his detractors, but, judging from the all-star line-up of musicians set to pay homage to him, it might be time for any haters to take a second listen.

On April 2, ATO Records is set to release The Music Is You: A Tribute To John Denver. As previously reported, the 16-track album will feature covers of Denver’s tunes from the likes of Dave Matthews, Lucinda Williams, Josh Ritter, J. Mascis, Sharon Van Etten and Emmylou Harris, among many others.

In preparation for the album’s release, NPR’s All Songs Considered is now streaming the album opener — My Morning Jacket’s beautiful cover of “Leaving On A Jet Plane.”

“Listening to John Denver’s voice is like hearing the wind for the first time as a child,” frontman Jim James told NPR. “You want to follow the wind and become one with it.”
